First, I'll say that the book I received was in great condition.However.
The 39 Clues series include very important "Clue Cards" on the inside cover to use with the online club and gaming associated with the story. The used book listing I purchased stated that the condition of the book was "Very Good", and gave no indication that the cards were missing.
The book arrived without the cards inside. I have contacted the seller, but I've received no response.
If an item is listed as "Very Good", that would imply that it is fully intact. Selling this book without the cards is basically equivalent to ripping out the last chapter but stating that the rest of the book is in excellent condition.
Disappointed.

One False Note The 39 Clues Book 2 Gordon Korman 9780545060424 Books Reviews
The are my grandaughter's favorite books. She reads them at least twice. She is 12.
A pattern is emerging in this (thus far) entertaining series. Each book focuses on an historical personage; last book it was Benjamin Franklin, this time Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Each book has different settings; last book it was Boston, Philadelphia, and Paris, this time Vienna, Salzburg, and Venice.
The opposition teams are also beginning to settle into grooves. The Holts are basically comic relief. The Kabras are decidedly evil. Irina is self interested but not overtly hostile. Alistair seems conflicted. Jonah is driven by hyper-competitiveness. The Starlings are still on the disabled list.
There are more glimpses of the Cahill past, both in general and Amy and Dan specifically. Amy and Dan's parents are involved in some mysterious way and Grace's fingerprints are everywhere. The man in black is hovering around but no information yet.
The writing this time is more of a general third person and does not follow and particular character. Nellie plays a more important role and I expect there to be more to her than has been revealed thus far. One also wonders about Saladin.
The edition is first rate. The book is a pleasure to read on the . The only complaint is that the preview chapters of the next installment give the reader an impression that the book is longer than it actually is.
This series has been great fun. I hope the momentum can be maintained through ten books. We're off to the far east in the next book. Highly recommended.
My 9-year-old son and I are reading the first book in this series, "The Maze of Bones", and really enjoying it. I bought this one to continue reading about all the clues. These books are very good, but I wouldn't recommend them for under age 9. It can be a little confusing when purchasing, so just know that different authors have written books in this series.
As I mentioned in my last post, I am buying this series for my grandson for Christmas. Now I'm on to book three, and I'm hooked. It's like reading Harry Potter but with different characters. I'll have the books read before Jackson even opens up his set on Christmas morning.
I have not read this book but my 10 year old has. He reports that it was a good boy and really enjoyed it. Time to order the next one!
The characters keep up a fast pace in this adventure appropriate for readers age 9- 13 (and Moms who like a good read). Lots of history delivered in a way to push the story forward. Dan is again such a likable kid that every person can relate to him- yes we all complain about boring museums and all struggle with being given credit for doing a good job. At 175 pages this book with shorter chapters will not daunt and even engage reluctant readers (as long as there is nothing better to do.)
My son is now 13 1/2 and is reading adult fiction but he still loves this 39 clues series.
He has read all of Rick Riordan's books and he loves the Artemis Fowl series and the Rangers Apprentice series.
Since he is reading adult books now I thought this 39 clues looked too juvenille for him. When I looked into the series and saw the list of characters involved in the stories, I changed my mind and got them for him. I bought them new b/c of the cards that come with the books.
He loves them but they are on the short side and he finishes them quickly. I dont feel like i'm getting my money's worth.
But still, thumbs up.
